As the race to bring new biotechnology, medical device, and pharmaceutical products to market intensifies, demand is growing for qualified professionals who know how to optimize the design and management of clinical trials. Professionals need to master emerging technologies to allow for a new generation of clinical trial designs that focus on safety and the rights of the human participants while preserving the integrity of clinical data critical to the future approval of the product.
The Graduate Certificate in Clinical Trial Design prepares students to be skilled in clinical trial design strategies and to be in compliance with Good Clinical Practice. Coursework will examine the use of new computerized model systems that integrate dynamic drug disease models, strategic market models, and financial models. Students will be able to compare systems that use simulated clinical trials with those that use traditional statistical analysis. Courses from this certificate may be applied toward the Master of Science in Regulatory Affairs.
